This book uses 700 color illustrations to reproduce the natural landscape and cultural heritages of the Chinese civilization in the era that Classic of Mountains and Seas describe. It includes the painting—Map of Mountains and Rivers during the Reign of Emperor Yu, which traces the ancient civilization, 20 art maps that recaptures the geology of the Classic of Mountains and Seas and many illustrations that give expression to the ancient tribal life. The author has made an incisive interpretation of the full text of Classic of Mountains and Seas and is the first in history to have done extensive literature research on the geographical locations of the 447 mountains belonging to the 26 mountain ranges stated in the classic.
