Being a pioneering monograph on the Chinese contemporary graphic design history, this book reflects on the problems in and methods for studying the Chinese contemporary graphic design. This book consists of two parts: Part 1, from a historical point of view, teases out the important phenomena and frontier problems in the field of Chinese contemporary graphic design since 1979; Part 2, by adopting a critical approach, carries out a case study of the representative graphic designers in China. This book does not review the history of contemporary Chinese graphic design in a well-rounded manner, but conducts a historical and theoretical analysis of some major issues in Chinese design over the last 40 years, e.g., the Graphic Design in China and other significant events, the categories and development trends of graphic design, and the graphic designers with paradigm innovation and their design ideas. This book is suitable for teachers and students, academic researchers, practitioners and managers in the field of design.
