The Joint Meeting of the 9th China Virtual Reality Industry-University-Research Conference and the Forum on Virtual Reality Talents Training

On October 15th, 2023, the Joint Metting of the 9th China Virtual Reality Industry-University-Research Conference and the Forum on Virutal Reality Talents Training, with the theme “Intelligent Connectivity, Integration and Innovation”, was held in the North China University of Technology (NCUT). It was hosted by the China Virtual Reality Technology and Industry Innovation Platform (CVRVT) and co-sponored by Tsinghua University Press (TUP) and the NCUT. More than 300 experts, college professors and industrial professionals from all over China, attended the conference.

QIU Xianqing, president of Tsinghua University Press, delivered the opening speech. He introduced that TUP, with the support from CVRVT and other organizations, has jointly set up the Steering Committee for College-level Virtual Reality Textbooks devoted to publish a series of high-quality textbooks catering to the new demands in higher education.

Academician ZHAO Qinping, Academician DING Wenhua, Academician DAI Qionghai, and Professor WANG Lijun of NCUT were invited to make reports on the conference. Academician ZHAO Qinping, ZHOU Mingquan, chairman of the Committee, and QIU Xianqing released the new book Guide for the Subject of Virtual Reality Technology in Higher Vocational Education at the concluding session.

Experts expounded on the objectives, contents and methods of training competent professionals of virtual reality. ZHOU Mingquan introduced the development of educational meta-universe, the various problems arising from training talents in the field of meta-universe, and also offered possible suggestions. DING Lingfen, head of the Vocational Education Branch of TUP, welcomed the industrial, higher-education and research experts to cooperate with TUP to develop more high-quality books related to virtual reality.
