TUP’s Communications in Transportation Research was indexed by SCIE and SSCI
On December 5, 2024, Communications in Transportation Research, an English-language academic journal, received official notification of its indexing in both the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), part of Clarivate's Web of Science. This milestone marks the first instance of a TUP journal being included in the SSCI, thereby breaking our previous record of no SSCI-indexed journals. Moreover, it stands as the inaugural TUP publication to achieve dual indexing in both the SCIE and SSCI.
In the JCR report released in June 2024, Communications in Transportation Research received its first impact factor of 12.5, ranking first among 58 peer journals globally in the TRANSPORTATION category and third among 72 peer journals in the TRANSPORTATION SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY category. Achieving SCIE and SSCI indexing within just three years of its launch, Communications in Transportation Research has exemplified excellence in academic quality, influence, global reach and standardization. This rapid rise to prominence has earned the journal significant recognition from the international academic community and within journal circles.
Communications in Transportation Research was launched on August 23, 2021, co-hosted by Tsinghua University and China Intelligent Transportation Society. The journal is edited and published by Tsinghua University Press, with international distribution managed by Elsevier Inc. The inaugural co-editors-in-chief are Professor QU Xiaobo from Tsinghua University (a member of the European Academy of Sciences) and Professor Wang Shuai’an from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The journal primarily publishes high-quality, original research and review articles that significantly contribute to the understanding and advancement of emerging transportation systems, reflecting the cutting-edge research in this dynamic field. It has been indexed in several prestigious international databases, including the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Scopus, Ei Compendex, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and Transportation Research International Documentation (TRID).
