Book launch of I Am a Village Office Director and the Academic Seminar of “Rural Stories and the Road of Chinese Modernization” Held in TU
On December 27th, 2024, the book launch of I Am a Village Office Director and the academic seminar of “Rural Stories and the Road of Chinese Modernization" were successfully held in the Future Media Lab of Tsinghua University. The conference was co-sponsored by the Tsinghua University Press, the School of Journalism and Communication of Tisnghua University and the Tsinghua University Marxist Journalism and Journalism Education Reform Research Center. XU Qinghong, Vice Chairman of Tsinghua University, QIU Xianqing, Chairman of Tsinghua University Press, and SHI Anbin, Chairman and professor of School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University attended the meeting. HU Yu, professor of the School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University and chairman of the Committee of Journalism with Chinese Characteristics of the Chinese Society of Journalism History presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, ZHAO Yuezhi, chief editor of the book series “County China, People’s History” and the author team shared their creation experience, and many well-known experts and scholars participated in the discussion.
QIU Xianqing pointed out that I Am a Village Office Director was awarded the “Theme Publication of National University Press” by the Ministry of Education of China this year, and the book series of “County China · People's History” is a key project of Tsinghua University Press. Taking this new book release as an opportunity, Tsinghua University Press will further promote its support on “County” research and content focused on rural revitalization, and make more contributions to Chinese modernization. It is also hoped that this book can enter thousands of households, become a window for readers to understand rural revitalization, a useful reference for front-line grass-roots workers, and a good example for young people to establish their values and ideals.
