Pearson Education Visits Tsinghua University Press
On the morning of February 20th, 2025, Dr. SUN Yu, Deputy General Editor of Tsinghua University Press (TUP), held a meeting with Ms. Ruth Cunney, Head of Global Rights of Pearson Education and Mr. Anson Li, Senior Rights Manager for Global Product of Pearson Education. Mr. WEI Jiangjiang, Head of the Information Publishing Division, Mr. LIU Zhibin, Head of Humanities & Social Sciences Division, Mr. BAI Lijun, Head of the Vocational Education Publishing Division, Ms. HUANG Zhi, Director of Textbook Department of the Information Publishing Division, and LAI Wenqiong, Director of International Cooperation of TUP also attended the meeting.
Dr. SUN Yu extended a warm welcome to Ms. Cunney and Mr. Li, and reviewed the long-standing cooperation between TUP and Pearson. She emphasized that TUP is committed to publishing high-quality textbooks and academic titles, providing high-calibre learning resources for readers both domestically and around the globe.
Ruth expressed her appreciation for the ongoing collaboration with TUP and shared insights into the trends of vocational education in the United States, as well as the transformative impact of artificial intelligence(AI) technology on the evolution of vocational education. She mentioned that, with the rapid advancement of AI, Pearson has been continuously leveraging AI to enhance and upgrade its products. She looks forward to exploring possibilities for cooperation in more areas with Tsinghua University Press.
Mr. WEI Jiangjiang highlighted Tsinghua University Press’s leading position in the publication of computer science textbooks and trade books. He reviewed the cooperation with Pearson over the past three years and hoped the two parties could strengthen collaboration in the future, particularly in the field of computer science textbooks, to achieve more remarkable results.
Mr. BAI Lijun presented an overview of the current development status and future trends of vocational education in China, emphasizing the distinctive characteristics and differences between vocational education systems in China and the United States. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on how AI technology can enhance learning experiences and outcomes and also explored potential avenues for future collaboration.
Mr. LIU Zhibin reviewed the history of cooperation with Pearson in the fields of economics, management, and humanities and social sciences books, analyzing the recent collaboration situation. He expressed that both parties could continue to explore the potential for cooperation, establishing new collaborative projects particularly in areas such as psychology and anthropology, and jointly creating more high-quality books.
