President ZHAO Xin Visits Science Press for Research on Journal Development

On February 18, 2025, ZHAO Xin, President of Tsinghua University Press（TUP）heads a delegation to Science Press for a collaborative exchange on journal development strategies.

PENG Bin, Chief Editor of Science Press, gives a welcoming address and provides an overview of Science Press' current journal operations. 

WANG Zhixin, General Manager of the Science China journal, outlines the development of Science Press' journals and digital platforms across five dimensions: "Quality Excellence, Digitalization, Global Reach, Clustering, and Specialization."

Both parties hold in-depth discussions on key topics such as “best practices and strategies for building world-class scientific journals”, “balancing the social impact and economic sustainability of journals” and “management, evaluation, and training mechanisms for editorial teams under globalized context”.

ZHAO says: "This research visit offered valuable insights into Science Press' successful approaches to scientific journal development. We look forward to strengthening collaboration with Science Press to jointly drive the advancement of world-class scientific journals."

The participants include SUN Yu and SHI Lei, Deputy General Editors of TUP, as well as representatives from the Human Resources Department, Journal Center, and Medical Publishing Branch. Also in attendance are key management members from Science Press' Journal Management Department, KeAi Company, and Beijing Zhongke Journals Co., Ltd.
