On November 26, 2025, Dr. SUN Yu, Associate General Editor of Tsinghua University Press (TUP), met with Professor Michael Yang Mengsu, Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). They held in-depth discussions on fostering synergy in academic publishing and application of research outcomes, as well as identifying key areas for resource integration and collaboration.

During the meeting, Dr. SUN introduced TUP's development strategy and core business areas, focusing on recent achievements in journal development. She expressed TUP's interest in learning from CityUHK's expertise in research translation and the operational models of leading international journals to further enhance the quality and global reach of TUP's journals.
In his welcome to the delegation, Professor Michael Yang Mengsu outlined CityUHK's institutional positioning and disciplinary structure, emphasizing its strengths in life sciences and health technologies. Professor Yang mentioned the establishment of the Institute of Digital Medicine (IDM), which has formed partnerships with academic, research, industry, and clinical partners from Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, and beyond. Furthermore, Professor Yang introduced HK Tech 300, a large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme organised by CityUHK for aspiring entrepreneurs among students, alumni, research staff and others, aimed at launching start-ups and translating research results and intellectual property into practical applications.

He praised TUP's journal development path for its blend of national impact and global perspective, creating broad prospects for growth. He identified promising areas for cooperation, including sharing academic resources, and co-developing dissemination channels, and proposed the next step of defining specific collaborative models.
Moving forward, TUP and CityUHK will collaborate on joint publishing in life sciences and the collaborative development of international journals to promote mutual growth.
