Structural Mechanics is a major foundational course in civil engineering, urban underground space and underground engineering, intelligent construction, intelligent transport, civil engineering software,and occupies an important position in professional courses.The purpose of the Structural Mechanics course is to help students master the calculation principles and methods of the strength,stiffness,and stability of rod structures based on the establishment of structural mechanics concepts,namely: structural static calculation,structural dynamic calculation,and the principles and methods of applying computers for structural calculation.

From the perspective of student learning,the overall idea for writing this book is to implement the principles of ¡°less but more refined¡±,integrating theory with practice,and deepening from shallow to deep.The content is comprehensive yet concise,emphasizing the cultivation of students¬ð independent thinking ability and the improvement of their ability to analyze and solve problems.The writing work strives to achieve clear concepts,accurate content,and prominent focus,emphasizing both the rigor and logicality of basic theoretical knowledge and the connection between theory and practice.

The book is divided into eleven chapters,mainly including overview,geometric analysis,force analysis of statically determinate structures,displacement calculation of statically indeterminate structures,force method,displacement method,moment distribution method,influence line,matrix displacement method,dynamic calculation of structures,ultimate load of structures,stability calculation of structures.Chapter 1 introduces the basic concepts of structural mechanics and the classification and simplification of planar member structures.Chapter 2 introduces how to determine whether a system is a geometrically invariant system and whether it is a statically indeterminate structure or a statically indeterminate structure.Chapters 3ª²4 are the calculation and analysis of statically indeterminate structures.Chapter 5 is the response of structures under moving loads.Chapters 6ª²7 are the calculation and analysis of statically indeterminate structures.Chapter 8 is the foundation of computer programming.Chapter 9 is the response of structures under dynamic loads.Chapter 10 is strength analysis,and Chapter 11 is stability analysis.Except for Chapter 1,each chapter has exercises.
