As an integral part of China's most prestigious university, Tsinghua University Press (TUP) was established in 1980 and has since evolved into a leading comprehensive publisher in the country. Supported by a team of over 500 dedicated professionals, TUP has established a strong presence in China's higher education, science and technology, and library acquisition markets. TUP is structured around 8 editorial divisions, a journal center, and an academic publishing center, enabling us to consistently produce relevant, innovative, and essential content and services for our readers.

TUP is a key player in China's publishing industry, serving as a core member of both the Publishers' Association of China and the Association of Chinese University Presses. Beyond its domestic influence, TUP also holds a prominent position on the global stage as an active member of the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM) and the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP).

TUP is deeply committed to broadening its global reach and plays a significant role in the copyright trade. Every year, we translate hundreds of titles from a wide array of international publishers and have licensed over 1,300 titles in more than 30 languages to publishers across North America, Europe, and Asia in total up until now.

Books

TUP releases about 2,500 new book titles annually. Our diverse catalog spans academic monographs, university textbooks, trade books, and elementary education materials, covering a wide range of disciplines, including STEM, social sciences, humanities, and foreign language learning. From textbooks to scholarly works, and from specialized monographs to widely accessible trade books, our publications transcend disciplines, cultures, and languages. But we don't stop at traditional publishing—we continuously innovate to meet the evolving needs of learners and educators, ensuring knowledge is accessible, impactful, and transformative.

Journals

TUP publishes 58 academic journals, 38 of which are in English, with 18 indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection. High-profile international journals like Nano Research and the Journal of Tsinghua University (Science and Technology) have significantly boosted TUP's global influence. Additionally, TUP has developed SciOpen, an innovative international platform offering end-to-end services for the production, publication, and dissemination of STM journals.
