WEN Shizhu(1932–2023), was Professor at Tsinghua University's School of Mechanical Engineering, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Honorary Director of the State Key Laboratory of Tribology at Tsinghua University. He dedicated his career to teaching and research in mechanical design and theory. His numerous accolades include the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, the Highest Achievement Award from the Tribology Division of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and the prestigious 2015 Tribology Gold Medal awarded by the World Tribology Council, among 26 other honors. He authored seven influential academic works, including Principles of Tribology and Interface Mechanics.
