‘Chinese Style’ Culture Series is a set of Chinese language textbooks catering to the learning needs of overseas students, but it is still available for both Chinese and foreign readers who are interested in Chinese culture. This set of books consists of six volumes, respectively created by dean of Confucius Institute or front-line teachers who have teaching Chinese as a foreign language for years. They will on the one hand “tell fascinating Chinese stories”, and on the other “carry forward Chinese culture”.This book is a collection of classic Chinese poems for guiding foreign students to comprehend the distinctive cultural implications in traditional Chinese culture, and come to realize how broad and profound the Chinese culture is. This book consists of 15 chapters divided by topic. The content covers flowers, seasons, landscapes, philosophic thoughts, emotions, family affection, friendship, love, etc. The selected poems are in diverse genres, including Yuefu Songs of Han Dynasty, folk songs of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Tang Poetry, Song Poems, Yuan Verse, etc. Each chapter consists of 2~3 poems as text and 2~5 extended readings. This book is available for full-time foreign undergraduate juniors and above, as well as for common Chinese and foreign readers that are fascinated with Chinese language and traditional Chinese culture.
