This book summarizes the author’s thinking and discussion on the “first philosophical problem” over the past two decades, pays equal attention to professional analysis and ideological discourse, and combines historical interpretation with original thinking. The so-called “first philosophical problem” refers to the most basic, constant and difficult problem in philosophy. This book is divided into two parts: Part 1 “Meditation” shows the author’s thoughts on the “first philosophical problem”. Part 2 “Interpretation”, which is based on the content of Part 1, contains the analysis, discussion and reflection of some leading philosophers on the “first philosophical problem”.
Prof. Huang Yusheng is doctoral supervisor of Department of Philosophy, School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. He is mainly dedicated to studying the first philosophical problem, German philosophy, philosophy of religion, philosophy of law and comparative philosophy.
