Children are at a critical stage for the development of musical ability and the cultivation of musical interest, with parents playing a crucial role as participants and observers in their children’s musical activities. With the natural ability to sing rhythmically, parents can guide their children to gain initial musical experiences, subsequently nurturing their potential, fostering an appreciation for music, shaping their character, and aiding in the development of intelligence, imagination, creativity, and aesthetic abilities. The author advocates for “parent-child music enlightenment,” drawing from various teaching theories such as Dalcroze, Orff, Kodály, Gordon, and Suzuki while incorporating years of teaching experience to formulate a systematic yet enjoyable approach to parent-child music enlightenment.
