Empowering Clinical Research: The 8th Medical Paper Writing Training Workshop Successfully Held in Beijing

To support researchers in refining their paper writing skills and bridging the gap between scientific innovation and practical application, the 8th Medical Paper Writing Training Workshop, co-hosted by Tsinghua University Press and partner institutions, was successfully held on December 20, 2025.

At the opening ceremony, ZHANG Tieming, President of the Society of China University Journals, and ZHAO Xin, President of Tsinghua University Press(TUP), delivered opening remarks. SUN Yu, Associate General Editor of Tsinghua University Press, moderated the opening session.

Presentations were delivered by a distinguished panel of experts, including:

The presentation sessions were moderated by LENG Huaiming (Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Pharmacy), JIANG Tao (Head of the Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Virology), KONG Zhaoxia (Director of the Editorial Department of the Journal of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences), and LIU Qian (Director of the Editorial Departments of Journal of Thoracic Oncology and Asia-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing). TANG Liuying, a researcher from the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), provided the concluding summary.

ZHANG Tieming congratulated the workshop on its opening, emphasizing the core status of academic writing skills and the importance of medical papers. He called for a steadfast commitment to academic integrity and praised the high quality of the curriculum and faculty.

ZHAO Xin welcomed the experts and participants on behalf of Tsinghua University Press. He highlighted TUP's achievements in life sciences and medical publishing, noting that medical papers are essential for distilling research results and disseminating academic ideas. This year's workshop covered core topics such as writing paradigms for both Chinese and Western medicine, research experience sharing for young scholars, and practical writing techniques. It also introduced innovative sessions on AI-assisted writing and submission optimization. ZHAO stressed the event's role in fostering quality medical communication and advancing the "Healthy China" initiative.

SUN Yu noted that the workshop has become a highly influential brand within the industry, having served over 10,000 medical professionals to date. She pledged to continue optimizing the curriculum to improve paper quality and drive academic progress.

The training featured eight experts covering critical areas such as basic writing principles, cultivation of scientific thinking, application of frontier technologies, and optimization of submission strategies.

In her summary, TANG Liuying stated that the workshop covered the entire chain of paper writing knowledge, providing a platform for exchange and intellectual collision. She encouraged researchers to apply their newfound knowledge to practice to contribute to the industry's academic development.

The success of this workshop not only provided researchers with systematic guidance on paper writing but also established a bridge for cross-disciplinary academic exchange.
