本书包括有机化学的烷烃、烯烃、炔烃和芳香烃等烃类；包括含氧化化物的醇、酚、醚、醛、酮、羧酸和羧酸的衍生物；包括含氮化合物的胺类化合物和酰胺类化合物；用独立章节介绍有机化合物的同分异构体现象，尤其是光学异构现象；最后介绍了四类与生物体组成密切相关的四大类化合物糖类、蛋白质、脂类和核酸。

教授，中国农业大学应用化学有机合成硕士研究生，2003年天津医科大学任教，即开始留学生有机化学教学工作至今，期间，2017年在加拿大McMaster University 做访问学者，现为校内留学生有机化学教材主编。

Chemistry is the study of the nature, properties, and composition of matter, and how these undergo changes. Organic chemistry, in short, is the study of organic compounds.
